South African Blossom
South African ponies (generally referred to as SA ponies), are quite rare. They were produced by Prima Toys specifically for the South African market. While they did still get regular Hong Kong / China released ponies in South Africa, these ones made by Prima Toys even had backcards that were printed in both English and Afrikaans. The ponies on the cards just had their original English names though. The SA ponies all have a few things in common, they all have tails rooted in a circle, and have mismatched head/body combinations. All of them have mono-toned symbols and long hair. Many of them there are only one known in existence, some of them there are two or three.
The only known South African Blossom is in the collection of TheMidnightKeeper of the MlpArena. It is one of her childhood ponies! SA Blossom has a kind of pinkish-coral colored hair that is identical to the stripe of the rainbow-haired ponies. Her body is in Glory's mold and her head is in Medley's mold. Her body is discolored though, so we can only guess at her original color. The symbols are solid white (of course), but the flowers are shaped, numbered, and arranged differently than the typical Blossom flower pattern.
Since I have no hope of ever owning a (the) South African Blossom, I've commissioned pinkkittywinks to make (yet another) custom. With the only known SA Blossom being discolored, we could only best guess at her original body color. The original can be seen in the MlpArena Nirvana Gallery here.
